Salary:  $53,409 to $57,309 depending on experience

Job Summary: This entry-level position is responsible for auditing represented worksites, signing up new members to join the union, and recruiting members to participate in the Active Ballot Club Political Action Committee.

Areas of Responsibility:

  • Audit represented worksites.
  • Sign up new members.
  • Recruit members to contribute to and participate in the Active Ballot Club PAC.
  • Complete required paperwork, reports, and forms in a timely fashion.
  • Assist Union Representatives in recruiting Shop Stewards from within the UFCW Local 555 membership.
  • Support UFCW Local 555’s political, contractual, and issue campaigns.
  • Other duties as assigned.


  • Ability to communicate well, both orally and in writing.
  • Sound interpersonal skills, including the ability to establish and cultivate respectful relationships with people from diverse backgrounds and cultures.
  • Basic understanding of labor laws.
  • Sound organizational skills to manage and prioritize work subject to deadlines in a dynamic and changing environment, as an individual and as a member of a team.
  • Computer/technology skills, including Microsoft office, email, internet, and tablet.
  • Bilingual skills highly desired.

Job Requirements:

  • Maintain valid driver’s license, automobile, and minimum auto insurance coverage required by UFCW Local 555.
  • Ability to regularly work anywhere in UFCW Local 555 jurisdiction, which includes frequent nights away from home.  Occasional travel outside the jurisdiction.
  • Relocation within jurisdiction may be required for future advancement.
  • Hours and days of work are whatever is required to meet various deadlines and requirements of the job, including nights and weekends.
  • Bending, stretching and reaching.
  • Some lifting under 25 pounds.
