Responsibilities / Duties
- this position is a part-time staff position with the Poudre Education Association (PEA)
- the sole responsibility of the PA is to assist the PEA President and the Executive Board, by providing superior office and data management
- as such, the PA is expected to:
- function as an office manager
- support various data systems
- update and maintain websites and other communication systems
- maintain financial systems and manage accounts payable and receivable
- complete human resources-related tasks
- provide organizing and capacity-building support to elected leaders, PEA members, and other staff
- the PA’s duties may be adjusted to meet unexpected local needs, or critical state actions
- the PA is invited to attend the beginning of each monthly meeting of the PEA Executive Board
Required Education / Knowledge and Skill Areas
- an associate’s degree
- superior skills in organization, communication, collaboration and interpersonal relationships
- characteristics including initiative, drive, flexibility, engagement, and a positive attitude with a solution-oriented focus
- an intrinsic willingness to be challenged and learn new knowledge and skills
- proficiency in various computer technologies, including Windows, Outlook, QuickBooks, and various data management, financial, and supply-ordering systems
- Member input/output in NEA 360 (training will be provided)
- proficiency in records maintenance, event planning, and the production of flyers, newsletters, and other promotional materials
- professionalism in appearance, judgement and tone
Relationships
- the PA is an employee of PEA (a local-option unit) and reports to the PEA President
- as PEA dues dollars pay the salary of the PA, they are by extension an employee of the teacher and SSP members of PEA, and serves the interests of those members
- the PA works on an equal basis with the PEA UniServ Director and may ask those individuals for reasonable assistance, but may not direct the work of those individuals
Salary Range: $25 – $30 an hour
