RNPA advocates for safe staffing, professional respect, equitable workplaces, and high‑quality care for the communities we serve. Position Summary
RNPA is seeking a highly motivated Labor Representative to represent, organize, and empower Registered Nurse members across the county health system. This position plays a critical role in organizing nurses, enforcing the collective bargaining agreement, resolving workplace issues, and developing strong member leadership.

Key Responsibilities

  • Build and strengthen workplace committees and develop RN member‑leaders
  • Organize and mobilize members around workplace issues and contract campaigns
  • Investigate and process grievances; represent members in disciplinary hearings
  • May serve as lead or co lead negotiator during collective bargaining
  • Ensure employer compliance with labor law and the RNPA Memorandum of Understanding (MOU)
  • Provide training on member rights, union participation, and advocacy
  • Engage and mobilize members in political and legislative efforts impacting public‑sector nursing
  • Represent RNPA in community events and advocate for RNPA priorities

Preferred Qualifications

  • Minimum 3 years of experience as a union representative or organizer (public‑sector and/or healthcare experience preferred)
  • Experience in organizing campaigns, contract negotiations, grievance handling, and leadership development
  • Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Knowledge of California labor law and public‑sector bargaining
  • Bilingual skills (Spanish, Vietnamese, or Tagalog) are a plus

Compensation & Benefits

  • Salary Range: $135,000 – $165,000 (depending on experience)
