This position is for a driven, values-based individual who is committed to advancing the interests of working families and strengthening the labor movement across the Denver region. The Political Coordinator role is designed for someone who understands the power of collective action and is motivated to build political strength for unions through strategic engagement, thoughtful planning, and consistent execution.
The ideal candidate is someone who thrives at the intersection of politics, advocacy, and organizing—an individual who can translate a strategic vision into real-world action. This role is for a self-starter who is organized, detail-oriented, and capable of managing multiple priorities while staying aligned with the Federation’s broader political goals.

Position: Political Coordinator
Location: Denver, CO
Salary: $65,405
Experience Required: 2-3 years in political, labor, or community organizing

Overview:
The following shall constitute the primary duties and responsibilities of this position. It is by no means intended to represent all duties and responsibilities attributed to this position.
Responsibilities:
- Meet the goals of the Federation as established by the DALF Strategic Plan and comply with all directives and assignments of the President. It shall be incumbent on this coordinator to request assistance as necessary in fulfilling his/her duties.
- Work in a team to develop and implement political action strategies aligned with DALF’s goals.
- Build and maintain relationships with elected officials, candidates, affiliated Union leaders and coalition partners.
- Coordinate member education on political issues and train members on civic engagement.
- Organize voter registration drives, endorsement processes, and GOTV efforts.
- Track Municipal, county, school district, and special district policy and legislation that impacts working families and mobilize responses.
- Represent DALF at public events and meetings.
- Complete duties as assigned by the DALF President in support of our political goals.
- Participate in union events, actions, conferences, meetings, and trainings as needed.
- Execute all duties and responsibilities as assigned by the President of the Federation.
- Meet established timelines while maintaining a high standard of professionalism and accountability.
- Coordinate with all Federation staff on the implementation of DALF Strategic Plan in support of our organizational goals.
- Perform additional duties and responsibilities as needed or directed, ensuring flexibility and responsiveness to organizational needs.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience in political organizing or labor advocacy.
- Strong knowledge of political landscape in the greater Denver Area.
- Excellent communication and public speaking skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively and independently while managing multiple projects.
- Is passionate about workers’ rights, economic justice, and building stronger communities
- Can build and maintain relationships with affiliates, elected officials, candidates, and community partners.
- Communicates clearly and effectively, with the ability to motivate and mobilize others
- Must be able to travel as needed to support organizational goals.
- This is not a standard 9-to-5 role; flexibility is required, including the ability to work irregular hours as needed and with little to immediate notice.
Preferred qualifications:
- Experience with voter databases (like VAN)
- Design software experience
- experience with Google platform (Drive, Sheets, Docs, etc.)
- Experience with voter outreach targeting and messaging stop
