Location: Logistics Department (Headquarters)
Shift: Monday – Friday, 9:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.

FUNCTIONAL PURPOSE:
Provides administrative and operational support for the building by managing shared supplies, processing mail, coordinating with vendors, maintaining records and organization’s vehicles, as well as transporting goods, materials, and passengers to designated locations.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
To include but are not limited to the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Assist with general cleaning and preventative maintenance of machines, including but not limited to those in the mail room and break room.
- Move and assemble furniture, boxes, and perform general tasks, such as hanging pictures and bulletin boards, upon request.
- Make deliveries and pickups on foot and/or in company vehicle.
- Safely drives company vehicles to transport goods, materials, or passengers to designated locations.
- Ensure vehicle maintenance by conducting inspections to check for safety issues, maintaining regularly scheduled service, and as needed service, and keeping vehicle clean, fueled, and in good working order.
- Maintain accurate records, such as logs, mileage, and delivery reports.
- Maintain and monitor office supply levels for the break room and the Executive Office, including placing orders through the designated supply ordering procedures and purchasing items as needed from retail stores.
- Assist with meeting room setup and event coordination for onsite, and occasional offsite meetings and events.
- Duplicate USB drives for large events, such as national conventions, All Craft Conferences, and other trainings.
- Order items for the building and field offices, including but not limited to door signs, business cards, and envelopes.
- Process, sort, and track incoming and outgoing mail and packages, including special carrier mail, registered, certified and express mail. Maintain proper postage balance on postage meter.
- Assist with assembling materials and special mailings.
- Check shipping forms for completeness, following established procedures if incomplete.
- Maintain storage areas within the building. Retrieves items from storage, as requested.
QUALIFICATIONS:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
- High school graduate or equivalent.
- One year general office experience.
SKILLS/ABILITY:
- Must be able to establish and maintain effective working relationships with officers, staff, employees and members of outside agency officials.
- Good driving record.
- Ability to perform duties with neatness and accuracy.
- Ability to operate mailroom office machines and use office equipment such as copiers, scanners, fax, desktop computer system and peripherals, etc.
- Individual must be dependable with exemplary attendance and punctuality.
- Must demonstrate excellent telephone courtesy.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationship with APWU personnel, members and general public.
CERTIFICATES AND/OR LICENSES
Must have a valid Washington, DC, Maryland or Virginia driver’s license.
PHYSICAL ABILITY
Ability to lift large mailbags, boxes, etc.
