Director of Nursing, Health & Safety, and Labor Education

Title: Director of Nursing/ Health and Safety/ Labor Education
Date: October 2025
Reports to: Executive Director

Position Description:
The Director of Nursing/ Health and Safety/ Labor Education is responsible for carrying out activities for the Division, related to managing, supporting and developing Nursing, Health and Safety and Labor Education for the Association. The Director works in collaboration with the other Division Directors in meeting the goals of the Association. The salary range for this position is $170,000 – $179,000.

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for the general administration of the Division of Nursing/Health and Safety/Labor Education ensuring their function.
  • Develops, implements and evaluates short and long-term goals of the Division.
  • Responsible for the administration of the ANCC Provider Program and ANSI/IACET Standard for Continuing Education and Training Program.
  • Identifies and establishes new programs in collaboration with other Division Directors, staff and volunteer membership.
  • Develops feedback mechanisms to evaluate Division activities.
  • Recommends policies/position statements relative to the practice of MNA members (nurses and non-RN healthcare professionals) to the MNA BOD and Executive Director.
  • Recommends policies/position statements relative to healthcare, health and safety to the Executive Director.
  • Promotes communications to staff and membership regarding the activities of the Division of Nursing/Health and Safety/Labor Education.
  • Collaborates with Directors in the Division of Labor and Organizing to develop labor education and labor program development. 
  • Collaborates with other Divisions on MNA initiatives that support the membership.
  • Performs research and collaboration relative to writing and submitting grant applications.
  • Submits monthly report to the Executive Director/Board of Directors.
  • Collaborates with Executive Director and Finance Director in developing the Division’s budget for recommendation to the Finance Committee.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Registered Nurse, licensed in Massachusetts.
  • Master’s or higher degree in Nursing required.
  • Experience with developing, evaluating, and managing ANCC provider programs required.
  • Experience with ANCC provider program certification process required.
  • Current knowledge of nursing issues, proven experience with writing evaluating healthcare policy required.
  • Current knowledge of health and safety and labor issues and standards required. 
  • Knowledge of public policy/regulatory issues required.
  • Volunteer membership organization experience preferred.
