New York Professional Nurses Union
Labor Representative or Senior Labor Representative
Based in New York City / Upper East Side, NY
(Primarily On-Site)
The New York Professional Nurses Union (NYPNU) is an independent, nurse-led union representing 1,500 RNs, NPs, and PAs across three hospitals in Manhattan. We were founded over 40 years ago by bedside nurses who believed in building a union that put patient care and members’ voices at the center.

We are seeking a Labor Representative who is deeply passionate about the labor movement and ready to help nurses enforce their contract, solve problems before they escalate, and grow collective power in the workplace. Applicants with significant, relevant experience, typically four or more years, may be considered for a Senior Labor Representative position, with responsibilities and compensation commensurate with their expertise.

- Support Bargaining & Internal Organizing: Help prepare for negotiations and strengthen member engagement through education, orientation, and leadership development and recruitment
- Communications: Write effective, accessible communications that mobilize members and deepen understanding of contract rights and union priorities.
The responsibilities listed above reflect the core of the role, but this announcement is not a full job description and shouldn’t be interpreted as limiting the scope of work.
