Office Administrator

Based in New York City, NY

 

Job Title: Office Administrator – 2025
Status: Part-Time (20 hours/week, minimum two days/week in office required)

The Association of Legal Advocates and Attorneys - UAW Local 2325 is seeking an Office Administrator to join our staff team. Every day, our members fight for justice for low-income New Yorkers, and for themselves to have equitable pay, benefits, and safer working conditions. ALAA combines organizing, legislative, and legal advocacy to effectively represent 3,500 public interest attorneys and staff across the New York City metro area.

The ideal candidate for this position is extremely organized and able to maintain multiple projects while executing tasks promptly with accuracy and precision.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Maintain office supplies, equipment, and Union inventory.
  • Assist in distributing Union materials to members, including:
  • Printing and mailing paper materials.
  • Distributing Union merchandise from the Office.
  • Booking travel for staff and Union members.
  • Administrative assistance on Training Program for Union members. 
  • Assist in Office set up for in-person membership meetings.
  • Support with processing and depositing checks.
  • Support with processing union enrollment forms.
  • Support with dues correspondence, as needed.
  • Digitizing and organizing ALAA files and drive.
  • Notetaking during staff meetings.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Experience Required: 

  • Familiarity with Unions and Non-Profit organizations.
  • Familiarity and comfort with Google Drive, Microsoft Office Suite, and other database systems.
  • Commitment to social justice and labor empowerment.
  • Commitment to low-income communities and criminal and social justice issues.

Other Requirements:

  • In-person work at the ALAA Union Hall in Downtown Manhattan is required.

Compensation & Benefits: 

  • Starting salary at $49,326, commensurate with experience

  • 7% employer 401k contribution after 1 year
  • Generous paid time off
  • Additional 5 vacation days in compensation for in-person requirement
