Today, we represent the most highly skilled trowel trades craftworkers across the United States and Canada including bricklayers, stone and marble masons, cement masons, plasterers, tile setters, terrazzo and mosaic workers, and pointers/ cleaners/ caulkers. With over a century of protecting the rights of our workers, BAC is the oldest continuous union in North America.
The Position:
The International Union of Bricklayers and Allied Craftworkers (BAC) is seeking a talented individual to assist its Financial Management Unit in the coordination of its activities, including processing vendor invoices for payments, research and respond to inquiries from vendors and employees, facilitate updates for accounting policies and procedures. BAC, North America’s longest-serving trade union, is dedicated to organizing masonry craftworkers throughout the United States and Canada for the purpose of improving the lives of our members, their families, and their communities.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Review and process vendor invoices for payment. Includes charging to appropriate budget and account, ensure proper authorization and backup, and process payment using SAGE 5000 automated accounting systems.
- Responsible for processing and coordinating voucher payments for the following departments BAC Death Benefit Payment, Dept of Labor, IPF Canada, SEPF and LOEPF, LOEPF Canada
- Track contributions and process grant payments for BAC Disaster Relief Fund
- Distribute vendor payments with appropriate back-up
- Research and respond to inquiries from vendors and employees
- Provide administrative support to Director, FMU; Direct of Accounting Services; Manager, General Accounting and Manager Financial Services
- Prepare and distribute annual audit confirmation letters for all entities in coordination with Calibre CPA firm.
- Compile and circulate weekly cash disbursements lists for review
- Receipt and expense tracking of Mastercard account charges
- Support FMU staff with administrative tasks
- Coordinate bond certificate distribution to local affiliates
- Distribute departmental mail and correspondence
- Prepare and distribute FMU monthly process schedule and other financial schedules
- Coordinate and facilitate updates to electronic accounting policies and procedures documents
- Organize and coordinate annual turnover of records based on retention policy. Maintain offsite records storage logs
- Assist processing accounts payable vouchers for all related entities when necessary
- Other miscellaneous duties as assigned
Skills & Other Requirements:
- Three (3) years of experience working with accounts payable, accounting, and recordkeeping or equivalent
- Experience processing accounts payables
- Familiarity with financial and accounting procedures and records
- Working knowledge of automated accounting software, SAGE 5000 a plus
- Proficient use of Microsoft Word and Excel
- Experience and use of Adobe Acrobat software
- Must be detail oriented with excellent organization and communication skills

Salary Range: $63,096.17 - $76,066.30
Schedule: Monday to Friday
