Office and Marketing Assistant
(Full Time)

Concerted Action is a leading digital organizing consulting firm serving labor unions and advocacy non-profits. We specialize in generating meaningful interaction with members and supporters, recruiting new supporters and converting supporters to activists, members, and leaders. The Office and Marketing Assistant will work with Concerted Action staff and clients, reporting to the Campaigns Director as their direct supervisor. This is a full-time (40 hours per week) hourly position with employer-sponsored benefits.

Description of Duties

  • Take primary responsibility for designing and executing a continuous marketing program for our consulting firm, which may include emails, website content, and regular organic or paid social media content across platforms with a focus on LinkedIn
  • Coordinate with clients and staff to schedule meetings and set up calendar invites with Zoom links
  • Monitor our client ticketing system, answering basic questions about digital organizing and advocacy tools directly or flagging more advanced questions for other staff
  • Layout and schedule approved email or digital action content within Action Network
  • Schedule or directly publish approved social media content
  • Update website content using Union Hall and WordPress
  • Generate reports for client and internal use, pulling data from multiple digital organizing and advocacy tools, as well as from social media platforms
  • Enter data or prepare data for upload
  • Draft and proofread email for internal and client correspondence
  • Draft and proofread content (text and graphics) that may be used in client campaigns, primarily for social media or email advocacy
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications and Skills

  • Mastery of common office applications, such those available through Google Workspace
  • Familiarity with digital organizing tools, such as Action Network, Action Builder and Union Hall
  • Social media experience, preferably creating or scheduling content on behalf of an organization
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to be flexible and able to adapt quickly to meet project needs
  • Self-motivated and able to keep multiple tasks organized
  • Experience within the labor movement is strongly desired, understanding of labor unions required

Position Type & Compensation

  • Fully remote/work-from-home located anywhere in the United States
  • Compensation for this role starts at $45,000 annually/$21.64 per hour
  • This is a full-time position requiring 40 hours per week. Any additional hours must be approved in writing by a supervisor in advance.
  • Employee choice of several employer sponsored healthcare plans with a monthly employer contribution of $500 for individuals or $900 for families

  • This position is included in a union-represented collective bargaining unit, and specific terms and conditions of employment are subject to collective bargaining.

All positions with Concerted Action involve direct engagement with existing and prospective clients. Staff are required to represent our organization publicly online and in person. Upon hire, a candidate will be required to:

  • Update their LinkedIn employment status to reflect their affiliation with Concerted Action
  • Use a recent profile picture across Concerted Action communications channels and digital platforms
  • Introduce themselves as a Concerted Action staffer in meetings both with clients as well as those with the larger labor and economic justice communities
  • Provide a professional biography for use in client proposals and marketing materials, including on Concerted Action’s website

Concerted Action expects full transparency from employees regarding other concurrent employment to avoid conflicts of interest. A conflict of interest exists when the employee’s loyalties or actions are divided between Concerted Action’s interests and those of another, such as a competitor, supplier, or client. Both the fact and the appearance of a conflict of interest should be avoided.
