About Just SB
Just SB came together to engage residents and community members to assess and develop a plan that actively addresses the conditions that have led to the City of San Bernardino’s consistently high rates of poverty, unemployment, underemployment, low wages, eviction, and other key indicators of economic health through a grassroots lens.

The eight community-based organizations that form Just SB are Arts Connection (AC), BLU Educational Foundation (BLU), Congregations Organized for Prophetic Engagement (COPE), Inland Empire Labor Council AFL-CIO (IELC), Inland Congregations United for Change (ICUC), People’s Collective for Environmental Justice (PC4EJ), Time for Change Foundation (TFCF), and the Warehouse Worker Resource Center (WWRC).

Position Overview:
We are seeking a highly motivated and organized individual to join our team as an Outreach Coordinator. The primary focus of this role is to build and maintain strong relationships with our workforce and economic development partners in the downtown City of San Bernardino area, with a particular emphasis on small businesses, neighborhood associations, community-based organizations (CBOs), and other grassroots groups. The successful candidate will play a key role in expanding our network, organizing outreach events, and enhancing communication strategies to support our mission.

Responsibilities:

  1. Relationship Building:
    • Cultivate and maintain relationships with downtown groups such as local businesses, neighborhood associations, CBO’s, and other key partners.
    • Conduct outreach and workshops with downtown groups such as local businesses, neighborhood associations, CBO’s, and other key partners regarding Community Benefits Agreements.
    • Attend meetings of associations and other key partners to represent the organization and identify collaboration opportunities.
  2. Event Planning:
    • Plan and execute outreach events to engage partners and the community.
    • Coordinate logistics, secure venues, and ensure events align with organizational goals.
  3. Communication and Marketing:
    • Collaborate with the Communications Director to create compelling flyers, social media campaigns, and website updates.
    • Assist in the development of marketing materials that effectively communicate the organization's initiatives.
    • Work to establish and expand and upkeep the “Support SB Local” program throughout local businesses.
  4. Engagement:
    • Conduct phone, in-person, and email outreach to partners to strengthen connections and provide updates.
    • Respond to inquiries and maintain regular communication to ensure partners are informed and engaged.
  5. Collaboration with Team:
    • Work closely with team members to support program planning and execution.
    • Provide assistance and input to ensure seamless coordination and implementation of initiatives.

  • A reliable form of transportation with proof of registration and a valid driver’s license is required.
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent work experience.
  • Proven experience in outreach, community engagement, or related roles.
  • Experience in communicating with diverse stakeholders in a professional context; bilingual English/Spanish preferred.
  • Experience and/or training in MS Office, Google Workspace, Zoom, Canva, and major social media platforms.
  • Experience in labor unions and/or community-based organizations and familiarity with the Inland Empire region preferred.
  • Familiarity with the Inland Empire region is preferred.
  • Ability to work in the evenings and weekends, as needed.

Compensation:
The position of Downton Outreach Coordinator is an exempt, full-time position. The yearly salary range for this position is $75,000 – $80,000, commensurate with experience related to the job responsibilities outlined here.

Work Environment:
This position will be mainly in-person. The outreach coordinator will be attending in-person meetings and events throughout the region with some meetings being held online. A reliable form of transportation with proof of registration and a valid driver’s license is required. The position will require you to work long and irregular hours including evenings and/or weekends, as needed.
