Organizing Intern
For covering Northern Virginia
Hours and Pay: There will be a one-time $1,000 stipend and hourly pay will be based on campaign placement.
About Us: NoVA Labor is a federation of 50 labor organizations representing workers in every economic sector in northern Virginia. Our mission is to fight for economic and racial justice by helping workers organize unions to gain a voice on the job through collective bargaining. To that end we engage in organizing, community outreach, and political activism.
Organizing Internship: NoVA Labor is offering organizing training with hands-on experience and one-on-one mentorship by experienced organizers. Interns will be placed on organizing campaigns to gain direct experience. This direct experience will be supplemented with classes on organizing skills, overview of the labor movement, and labor law.
Preferred Qualifications: Applicants should be committed to the ideals of the labor movement and should be interested in gaining skills and understanding of the complex challenges of organizing in the private sector. Excellent listening skills, ability to work within a diverse community, and strong work ethic.
