About This Role
The HR Manager (HRM) position is responsible for aligning business objectives with employees and management in designated business units. The position formulates partnerships across the HR function to deliver value-added service to management and employees that reflects the business objectives of the organization. The HRM maintains an effective level of business literacy about the business unit's financial position, its midrange plans, its culture, and its competition.
Essential Functions:
- Conducts monthly meetings with respective business units.
- Consults with line management, providing HR guidance when appropriate.
- Works closely with management and employees to improve work relationships, build morale, and increase productivity and retention.
- Provides guidance and input on business unit restructuring, workforce planning and succession planning.
- Identifies training needs for business units and individual coaching needs.
- Manage the staffing process, including recruiting, interviewing, selection, hiring.
- Develop staff training materials for on-going development and growth.
- Investigate employee relations issues and conflicts and brings them to resolution.
- Ensure the organization’s compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
- Use performance management tools to provide guidance and feedback to business units.
- Ensure all company HR policies are applied consistently.
- Partner with management and HR Director to ensure strategic HR goals are aligned with business initiatives.
- Partner with Director to maintain HR systems and processes.
- Conduct performance and salary reviews for direct reports.
- Design and implement employee retention strategies in consultation with Director
- Bridging management and employee relations by addressing demands, grievances, or other issues
- Support current and future business needs through the development, engagement, motivation, and preservation of human capital.
- Nurture a positive working environment
- Report to management and provide decision support through HR metrics
- Ensure legal compliance throughout human resource management
- Performs other related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in human resources or related education, preferred.
- Minimum of 8 years in proven working experience as HR Manager; or relatable work experience.
- Working knowledge of multiple human resource disciplines, including compensation practices, organizational diagnosis, employee and union relations, diversity, performance management, and federal and state respective employment laws.
- People oriented and results driven
- Demonstrable experience with Human Resources metrics
- Knowledge of HR systems and databases
- Competence to build and effectively manage interpersonal relationships at all levels of the company
- SHRM Certified Professional (SHRM-CP) or SHRM Senior Certified Professional (SHRM-SCP) credential or ability to obtain certification within one year of employment.
Position Type and Expected Hours of Work:
- This is a full-time, exempt position. As a Full-Time, Exempt employee you are not eligible for overtime. Hours of operation will depend on what you and your supervisor agree to. Must have flexibility in schedule during extended business hours allowing stakeholders to access services. From time to time, the Human Resources Manager may be expected to participate in Union activities outside of normal business hours, including weekends and after-hours.
- This position is 75% remote, 25% at HQ Seattle. The position is normally required to be in the office at least two (2) days weekly, or when needed (based on business needs). Department Director has the ability to depict work schedules.
- When applicable, the Human Resources Manager is required to be present on new hire(s) first day to conduct new employee onboarding and paperwork.
Compensation:
This position is full-time, exempt. Pay ranges from $96,675 – $118,109 per year. Benefits include vacation, holiday, and sick leave benefits, fully employer paid health, dental, vision, and life insurance, defined benefit pension plan, and optional 401(k), WFH credit, and more.
