With 20,000 members, Workers United CMRJB represents many types of workers in the Midwest. Our Union strongly believes in the development of member leaders through education and by participating in labor campaigns. We are committed to growing by organizing workers who are fighting for good jobs that provide fair wages and benefits along with respect and dignity in the workplace.

Positions are available throughout 9 states in our region (Colorado, Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Ohio, and Wisconsin).

Responsibilities Include (but are not limited to):

  • The ability to follow through on targets, probes, and the initiation of campaigns.
  • Providing support to teams of staff and members in the execution of their organizing efforts.
  • Building one-on-one relationships with workers and educating them about the benefits of having a union.
  • Conducting individual and group meetings with workers to discuss and plan organizing campaigns, while motivating them to action.
  • Identify and develop leaders.
  • Develop relations with community allies to further the success of labor-organizing campaigns.
  • Engaging workers in broader union efforts to further the political goals of the Union.
  • Previous labor organizing experience is a big plus.

Qualifications:

  • Willingness to work long hours, nights, and weekends.
  • Capacity to work independently and with a team.
  • Must be a self-starter, willing to work alone for periods of time.
  • The ability to make and follow through on a work plan.
  • Sharp communications skills.
  • Basic writing and computer skills.
  • The ability to work with people from diverse backgrounds.
  • Fluency in a second language is a plus.
  • Reliable transportation with a valid driver’s license is required.
  • Must be able to travel and be gone from home for long periods of time.

Compensation:
Negotiable salary based upon experience with an exceptional employee benefits package.
