The International Cinematographers Guild, IATSE Local 600 is the largest camera and publicist union in the world with over 10,000 members located in all 50 states and Puerto Rico. Applications are currently being accepted for the position of Regional Director, Central Region. This position will be based out of the Guild’s Central Region office, located in Atlanta GA.

Summary Statement:
This is an at-will, exempt position. The Regional Director, Central Region (“RDCR”) reports directly to the National Executive Director. This position requires extensive travel as well as regular evening and weekend work. Job duties include staff supervision, evaluation and training, developing and managing campaigns, compiling and analyzing complex data, contract administration, grievance handling, program development, membership advocacy, organizing, mentoring and other duties related to the goals of the Union.

The RDCR acts as the chief appointed employee of the Guild in the Central Region which comprises the Central 22 states. The RDCR shall perform assignments as directed by the National Executive Director in matters relating to collective bargaining agreements, contract enforcement, negotiations, organizing, and other matters relating to the Guild’s representation of its members. The RDCR shall also act as one of the Administrative Managers of the Atlanta and Chicago offices, including but not limited to, supervising the Central Region Business Representatives of the Guild.

In addition, the RDCR will advocate for and advance the interests of the Guild; be accountable to the National Executive Director of the Guild; act as a liaison between the Regional Council for the Central Region, the National Officers and the National Executive Board of the Guild; report to the Regional Council on matters pertaining to the Central Region; devote all of their work efforts to the duties described above, and make themselves available to perform such duties at all reasonable times.

Experience:
Preference will be given to candidates with experience at a senior staff position within a labor organization. Experience managing employees is required. A college degree is required. A relevant degree in labor relations, law, or a related field, or direct work experience as a chief spokesperson in collective bargaining, grievance administration, organizing and program development with a union is highly desirable. Excellent verbal and written communication skills as well as proficiency with technology is highly desirable.

$155,000 to $170,000 annually, based on experience commensurate with experience and an excellent benefits package are provided.
