Administrative Coordinator
Based in Kent, WA
Overview:
SEIU Healthcare 1199NW’s mission is to unite, build power among, and improve standards for healthcare workers, to fight for quality, affordable healthcare, and to work to eliminate institutional and structural racism and its intersection with other forms of oppression for all members and their communities. We are seeking an Administrative Coordinator. The role is primarily responsible for the front office support, archive system, and maintaining and booking conference rooms for a growing healthcare workers union. Must have two or more years administrative experience, proven ability to work independently, be highly organized and dependable, possess great problem-solving skills, and be able to repeatedly lift up to 25 pounds on a daily basis.
Duties
- Office inventory, ordering, and receiving
- Process incoming and outgoing mail
- Forward general voicemail, faxes, and email messages appropriately
- Maintain conference rooms
- Manage external requests to book conference rooms
- Final set up and printing of Collective Bargaining Agreements
- Assembly and distribution of virtual and physical New Employee Orientation packets
- Assist the Dues Admin with data entry and data integrity tasks
- Responsible for Union archive system - ordering and returns, maintaining naming conventions, labeling standards, and supporting document retention policy standards
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- Two or more years of administrative experience in an office environment
- Willingness to take on new tasks and learn new systems
- Proven troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Dependable self-starter with low need for supervision
- Ability to handle multiple projects at once while remaining calm
- Good written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to repeatedly lift file boxes weighing up to 25 pounds on a daily basis
- Ability to work with people from diverse backgrounds/cultures
- Commitment to justice for working people
- Experience working for a progressive organization, labor union or campaign for progressive candidate or initiative highly preferred
Technical Skills:
- Microsoft Office: Intermediate Word, intermediate Outlook, basic Excel
- Typing 40 WPM (tested)
- MS Word formatting (tested)
- Accurate data entry (tested)
- Experience with Ricoh Fiery or other production copier digital front end a plus
Salary - $22.47 -$33.81/hr, generous benefits include: fully paid medical and dental, paid sick and vacation, defined benefit pension plan, 401k
Position will work from the Kent office; some work can be performed from home.
