Political Organizer

Based in Plymouth Meeting, PA area


PASNAP is seeking a seasoned Political and Communications Professional to join its dynamic team as we mobilize to protect the rights of nurses and healthcare professionals around the state.

PASNAP seeks a candidate with four years of experience in political, community and/or labor organizing, legislative advocacy, electoral campaigns, communications, and research.

As a member of PASNAP’s CPR team (Communications, Politics and Research), they would work with other members of the team and report to the CPR Director. Assignments would include three main components:


  • Support PASNAP Organizing, Contract and Legislative campaigns. Help develop a strategy regarding political and community involvement.
  • Assist in coordinating local union political activities with the PASNAP PAC Committee and Political and Community Outreach Chairs
  • Increase political engagement in locals, work with member leaders and staff to identify and recruit members for local political teams
  • Assist in planning and coordinating successful PAC enrollment campaigns
  • Conduct political education trainings for union members and staff


  • Assist with developing and implementing a communication strategy that includes media outreach and social media content creation.
  • Create social media content ideas and develop and facilitate overall social media content. Graphic design skills and video editing capability are a plus.
  • Help to write press releases and content for the PASNAP website and newsletter.


  • Compile, research, present and summarize data on industries, companies, individuals, issues and other topics as assigned.

Job Qualifications:

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience in executing electoral activities, including phone banks, GOTV, signature gathering, social media, etc.
  • Experience in coalition building with successful collaboration, conflict management, and multi-organizational campaign work.
  • Experience in legislative advocacy, including organizing, lobbying, and earned media.
  • Ability to organize and inspire members to participate in key union programs (i.e. politics, organizing, coalition building, and legislative advocacy.)
  • Proficiency in utilizing digital tools such as mass email, text, and social media programs and coordinating data and messaging across diverse platforms.
  • Ability to develop, implement, and monitor long-range plans.
  • Knowledge of research techniques, databases, and processes.
  • Graphic design skills and video editing capability are a plus.

Other duties may be assigned.

The position is based in our Plymouth Meeting office. Occasional travel across Pennsylvania, irregular hours, and weekends may be required when necessary.

PASNAP provides excellent compensation with a salary for this position ranging from $76,406 - $120,864 depending on experience, employer-paid health insurance, and generous time off and retirement benefits.
