Senior Campaign Lead
Workforce Development & Sectoral Strategy

CWA is seeking a Senior Campaign Lead in California to support the union’s workforce development and training initiatives aligned with major public investments in broadband infrastructure. The Senior Campaign Lead will be responsible for partnering with labor allies, educational institutions, elected leaders, and public agencies to support high-road training initiatives for publicly-subsidized broadband deployment.

The Senior Campaign Lead will work under CWA District 9 leadership with a team of local leaders and CWA staff to coordinate across legislative advocacy, program development and external organizing.

  • Lead and direct workforce development program work in collaboration with CWA local leaders
  • Manage relationships with educational institutions and training partners to support workforce development initiatives
  • Assist with legislative and regulatory engagement in support of high-road workforce policies
  • Develop and manage a program budget
  • Write and fully communicate a program work plan with timelines and roles
  • Exercise accountability for all aspects of the campaign and work to objectives/metrics, directing the work of others towards these goals and producing regular reports
  • Assist with trainings of locals, staff and community partners
  • Other duties as assigned

Job Qualifications:

  • At least a bachelor's degree in relevant field or equivalent relevant experience
  • At least three to five years experience in workforce development or occupational training
  • Experience working in the telecom/broadband sector is a plus
  • Additional experience in the areas policy/legislative, community organizing, union organizing and related areas is a plus
  • Demonstrated commitment to economic and social justice and the labor movement
  • Advanced communications skills, both verbal and written
  • Willingness to work irregular hours and travel away from home/office

Job Specifications:

  • Wages: $91,521.51 – $118,505.68, commensurate with experience
  • Benefits and other terms as defined under staff union contract
