The National Nurses Organizing Committee/California Nurses Association (NNOC/CNA) seeks an experienced Texas Labor Representative/Organizer in the El Paso area. CNA/NNOC is leading the national movement for Registered Nurse power to transform the market-driven healthcare industry in the United States into a health care system based on patient need.

We seek an experienced Labor Representative/Organizer who enjoys developing and working with strong members and who shares our vision of nurses leading a national movement for health care justice.

This is more than an ordinary union job; we seek a skilled Labor Representative/Organizer who wants to use their skills strategically. The ideal candidate would relish the chance to build strong workplace committees, develop local leadership, educate members about alternatives to corporate control of health care, and mobilize members to fight against attacks on nurses and healthcare.

Position Available: Labor Representative

This position will include aspects of both an Organizer and a Labor Representative. Organizers are responsible for helping to develop the RN organizing committee at a hospital, and helping nurses win their representation election in the face of an intense anti-union employer campaign. Labor Representatives are responsible for all matters related to collective bargaining, including organizing nurses in private and public employment; compiling, analyzing, interpreting and presenting pertinent data; negotiating all issues on behalf of nurses in assignment; processing grievances and conducting arbitrations; and representing nurses in employment-related problems.

Salary and Benefits: Competitive salary depending on experience $61,516 – $177,967, and outstanding benefits offered, including comprehensive family health & dental plan, and generous pension.
