Program Data Specialist

The Education Fund is a non-profit partnership between SEIU UHW-West and Healthcare Industry Employers; on a mission to accelerate the careers of 90,000 SEIU eligible Healthcare Workers through innovative education and training solutions. We have a bold strategy to transform the Ed Fund and need an experienced leader to play a crucial role in maintaining and re-imagining the development, implementation, and evaluation of all key career pathway programs.

The Program Data Specialist will work in a technical role to record, track and maintain program data, including program invoice processing, data entry, compiling/tracking financial and other data for programs, running database queries, using advanced functions of excel and performing other functions that support the delivery of excellent service to the Ed Fund’s participants. In addition this position will play a significant role in new and ongoing vendor contract administration and new project coordination.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Responsible for processing program vendor invoices and vouchers, student reimbursements and lost time payments in a timely and accurate manner
  • Prepares spreadsheets for upload to the Financial Edge accounting system
  • Queries the database to ensure that payments are only made to qualified recipients
  • Prepares program reports for program managers
  • Creates, maintains and reconciles program payment data for upload into the database
  • Assists with special projects as necessary

Qualifications and Capabilities

  • Associate’s Degree in Business Administration or Accounting or equivalent is preferred
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in an accounting or program administration department environment
  • Minimum 1 year experience in contract administration and processing
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously within strict timelines/deadlines
  • Strong analytical mind, interpersonal skills, and ability to work in a constantly changing political environment
  • Top notch customer service background serving a diverse array of internal and external stakeholders
  • Previous project coordination experience
  • Strict attention to detail
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills (V-lookup, advanced formulas, and pivot tables)
  • Intermediate Microsoft Word skills
  • Experience with Blackbaud Financial Edge a plus
  • Experience working with a proprietary database system such as Blackbaud Education Edge is a strong plus
  • Excellent written, oral and problem-solving skills
  • Flexibility regarding schedules and assignments
  • Critical thinking skills, judgment, tact and a professional demeanor required
  • Experience working within a union or non-profit environment is preferred
