The School of Industrial and Labor Relations at Cornell University has an opening for a Coordinator Program C06 – Program Coordinator for The Worker Institute located in the New York City ILR Extension Division.

The purpose of this position is to support, execute and implement the programmatic, operational and administrative functions of The Worker Institute, Cornell ILR. The Worker Institute conducts research, education and training, and policy development to advance worker's rights and collective representation and help build a fair, equitable and sustainable workplace and society.

This position contributes to achieving successful program execution and customer satisfaction of The Worker Institute's program offerings. The Program Coordinator role is a core team function and integral to the success of The Worker Institute's programs. Responsibilities include coordinating scheduling, financial and administrative processes specific to the programs.

This is a full-time, exempt bargaining unit position that falls under the exempt CWA contract. The position is based in the ILR New York City Extension office located at 570 Lexington Ave, New York, NY 10022.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree, with two to three years of experience with project management or client relationship management, preferably in an academic or professional setting, or equivalent combination of education and work experience
  • Demonstrated experience in project management, event management or client service
  • Experience monitoring financial transactions and assisting in budget preparation and financial reporting
  • Ability to cope effectively with changing priorities in a fast paced setting and the ability to demonstrate effective allocation of time resources of self and others
  • Interpersonal skills to manage interactions with adjunct instructors, contractors, venue providers and engage with a senior level client and participants
  • Proven ability to successfully manage and prioritize multiple tasks while working simultaneously under pressure within a fast-paced, office environment
  • Must possess the ability to work independently
  • Excellent organizational, logistical and scheduling skills
  • Demonstrated ability to exercise discretion and independent judgment
  • Ability to interact tactfully with diverse groups of individuals
  • Ability to take initiative and be a pro-active team member
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • High level expertise in Microsoft products including MS PowerPoint, Excel and Word
  • Proficiency with MS Outlook email and calendaring
  • General database operating knowledge

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Four or more years program coordination experience, including program development and marketing
  • Previous experience in high-level program or conference coordination.
  • Experience with distance learning and methods
  • Demonstrate a high level of proficiency with the technical applications involved in the execution of the job; including Adobe Pro, databases, including Salesforce and Zoom.
  • Interest in and commitment to worker's rights, labor unions and social justice.
