Political Affairs Specialist

The position of Political Affairs Specialist is available in the Legislation Department of NTEU’s Headquarters Office in Washington, D.C. This position is in the bargaining unit and has a career ladder on the NTEU pay scale of Grade 9, 10, 11.

The Political Affairs Specialist assists NTEU’s Political Affairs Director in designing and implementing NTEU’s political and PAC fundraising efforts. Duties include researching candidates and election rules, processing contributions and maintaining NTEU’s PAC database, filing reports with the FEC, providing input on targeting decisions, as appropriate, and working with NTEU leaders, members and staff to implement election plans. The position also requires drafting political communications to members and creating content for the election webpage of the NTEU website.

The successful candidate will have 2-4 years of experience with political compliance and campaign communications. Excellent writing, organizational and project management skills required. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Vocus Government Relations software a plus. Overnight and extended travel is required.
