AAPI Civic Engagement Coordinator

Based in Alexandria, VA

LOCATION: Alexandria

The Civic Engagement Coordinator will be essential to executing ACE Collaborative community building and civic engagement campaigns. The coordinator will report directly to the ACE Collaborative Director. This position is based in Alexandria, VA. Flexibility is required before major events or throughout election season.


  • Supporting ACE Collaborative organizing campaigns through outreach and maintaining relationships with additional AAPI voters as well as community based and partner organizations;
  • Implementation of issue forums and campaigns around for both community outreach and civic engagement efforts around legislative priorities, citizenship campaigns, and Census 2020.
  • Develop resources, trainings, and tracking materials to ensure success of both field programs. This may include regular communications (email, phone, in-person), relationship building and collaboration with partner organizations;
  • Manage canvassers and volunteers during election season;
  • Manage data needs and conduct targeted outreach in key working with community coalitions to represent ACE Collaborative the civic engagement work;
  • Frequent communications support around issue-specific press statements, issue briefs for chapters, and social media content development;
  • Perform general administrative duties;
  • Assist with planning and coordination of major events including training;
  • Work with accountant to process bills and deposit checks in a timely manner.

  • Ability to develop and maintain a variety of relationships on multiple levels;
  • Demonstrated ability to meet multiple deadlines; able to develop and move projects forward with independence and autonomy;
  • Self-motivated and works well both independently and on a team;
  • Ability to prioritize, meet deadlines, manage multiple projects;
  • Ability to take direction and constructive feedback;
  • Driver’s license and access to reliable transportation;
  • Experience organizing immigrant communities, especially in Asian American Pacific Islanders communities, is preferred.


  • Salary range is competitive from the low $50,000 to high $55,000’s, commensurate with experience, and comes with an excellent benefits package, including health, vision, dental, and stipends for phone and transportation.
