Position: The Inside Electrical Wireman Apprenticeship is a five-year training program that consists of eight thousand hours on the job training in addition to nine hundred hours of classroom instruction. Classes are held four times per year, Monday thru Friday, 7:00 am to 3:30 pm (40 hours) once every nine to ten weeks depending on holidays and two ten hour Saturday classes per year, that equal up to 180 hours of classroom instruction per year, Apprentices are paid while they work and learn, with wages starting at forty (40%) percent of journeymen Inside Wireman electrician wages and increasing five percent every six months, or one thousand hours. Current starting pay is $14.89 an hour plus medical & dental benefits. Duties:
The Apprentice Electrician works directly under the supervision of and
assists a qualified Journeymen Inside Wireman Electrician in installing
or maintaining a variety of approved wiring methods for distribution
of electrical light, heat, power, radio and signaling utilization systems
in existing or new buildings under construction of residential, commercial
and industrial occupancies; including street and highway lighting, traffic
signal and other outdoor above and below grade installations.
