Description: VIRGINIA DISTRICT DIRECTORS CHARLOTTESVILLE/HAMPTON ROAD Posting date: November 3, 2009 The Campaign to Reform Immigration for America is seeking State District Organizers. The Campaign is a historic, national broad based coalition bringing individuals and grassroots organizations to build support for workable comprehensive immigration reform and pass legislation this year. The Campaign will hire in states all around the country, for start dates in early December 2009. State District Organizers will coordinate a district-based legislative field strategy by managing contacts with local partner organizations and providing direction and leadership to participating organizations. Organizers will also execute district-level strategies for grassroots lobbying and communications work as part of a nationally coordinated field effort. This is an opportunity for an experienced organizer with a proven track record of working with grassroots networks and diverse sectors such as faith, labor, and community based organizations. Knowledge of, or exposure to, immigration or immigrant rights issues is preferred. This is a temporary full-time contract. Women, people of color and ethnic minorities are strongly encouraged to apply. Bilingual ability strongly preferred. Compensation is commensurate with experience.
Compensation: $40-45,000 annualized, depending on experience.
