Exciting Opportunity for an OPERATIONS MANAGER with a Commitment to Economic Justice

Responsibilities
The Operations Manager reports directly to the Executive Director to support our programs and ensure the overall financial health and functioning of the organization.  Duties include:

Bookkeeping:

  • Work with Executive Director to develop and manage annual budgets.  This includes preparation of monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements and board reports
  • Perform all bookkeeping for organization, including management of annual audit
  • Process bi-monthly payroll for all employees
  • Maintain documentation for all expenses
  • Ensure that all financial reports are filed in a timely fashion
  • Prepare and reconcile Executive Director’s monthly expenses

Operations:

  • Manage leases, insurance and office expenses for offices in Denver, Oakland, Los Angeles, San Francisco and Milwaukee
  • Implement and monitor the personnel policies as listed in the Partnership Employee Handbook
  • Obtain and manage health and retirement benefits programs
  • Obtain and manage Directors & Officers Insurance, Commercial Package Insurance, Unemployment Insurance and Worker’s Compensation
  • Provide technical assistance to network organizations regarding operations
  • Maintain documentation of government lobby hours for all staff of organization

Executive Support:

  • Provide clerical and scheduling support to the Executive Director as needed
  • Maintain foundation and donor lists, files and tracking systems
  • Support Board and committee functions, including scheduling, minutes, reports and logistics
  • Work with staff team to schedule internal meetings, calls, and support for our affiliates as necessary

Qualifications

Degree in finance, accounting or related field or equivalent experience preferred
Knowledge of QuickBooks accounting program and Microsoft Office Suite
Payroll and electronic funds management experience
Experience in office or funds management for public, nonprofit, labor or comparable private sector organizations
Outstanding organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
Ability to travel and periodically work odd hours for network gatherings and board/staff meetings
Commitment to social justice or workers’ rights

The base location for this position is flexible, with a preference for Washington, DC or Denver, CO.  The Partnership’s salary and benefit package are very competitive.
