At any given moment in time, there is untold organizing talent out there not actively fighting for justice in the workplace. And at the same moment in time, workers, campaigns, and unions who urgently need additional organizing capacity. At the Prewitt Organizing Fund, we devote ourselves to matching talent and experience with need.

The Prewitt Organizing Fund seeks dedicated organizers with all levels of experience to take responsibility on a wide range of union organizing campaigns. We especially need organizers who are ready to hit the ground running and know the nuts and bolts of social change work — how to communicate with workers, build organizing committees, run meetings, keep records, and work collaboratively on campaign strategy, etc.

The Prewitt Organizing Fund is an independent, nonprofit consulting group helping to expand organizing capacity across the labor movement and other progressive organizations and causes. We have open positions are in many locations around the country. Some are short-term and some are long-term. Apply now, and we'll do our best to help you find the right match in the labor movement!

Responsibilities include:

• Lead, motivate and mobilize workers
  
• Identify and mentor worker leaders
  
• Communicate one-on-one with workers through home and work site visits as well via phone and email
  
• Plan, implement, and evaluate campaign strategies and tactics with senior staff
  
• Assess information, frame issues, and cope with shifting campaign needs efficiently and intelligently
  
• Help build the Union through leadership and committee development, actions, mobilizations, keeping campaign records and other assigned tasks
  
• Follow strategic plans with strict accountability to obligations
  
• Participate in research, communications, political, community, and legal campaign components as needed

Qualifications:

• Demonstrated commitment to social justice
  
• Ability to work and irregular hours and travel as required by campaign and organizational needs
  
• Excellent communication skills
  
• English/Spanish bilingual a plus
