UNION REPRESENTATIVE

OPEIU Local 17 is an amalgamated local union representing workers in the private and public sector. We are committed to making a difference in workers' lives. We are seeking an experienced individual who is a team player, outspoken, responsible, and able to work independently with good leadership qualities.

Job Responsibilities include but are not limited to

• Contract preparation and negotiations
• Administer contracts
• Grievance supervision/handling
• Steward guidance, education and development
• Regular site visits
• Attend meetings and serve on committees as assigned
• Arbitration preparation

Qualifications

• Experience in interpreting and enforcing Collective Bargaining Agreements
• Able to work in a Labor Management Partnership a plus
• Ability and commitment to work the hours needed for the job as well as travel
• Ability to make sound decisions in a professional manner
• Work well with a range of personalities
• Dedication to the labor movement

Compensation

This is a salary position with a good benefit package.
