Organizer (New York & Tri-State Area)

We are looking for an experienced Union Organizer for the motion picture, new media , television production and post-production industry.

The Organizer will be responsible for initiating and participating in organizing campaigns in order to move workers to use collective action to solve workplace issues.

Basic job duties include, but are not limited to:

• Establish contact with potential members
• Organize and run meetings
• Develop rank and file leadership
• Lead campaigns

Candidates should be well organized and have a strong commitment to union organizing.  Must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills.  Must be willing to work long hours, including weekends, and be able to effectively multi-task and work independently.  Must possess a valid driver’s license.

Salary will be $60,000 plus family medical, dental and pension benefits.
