Job Description:
SEIU's Research Department provides critical support to a wide range of SEIU campaigns and initiatives. The Research Dept is integrated into all facets of campaigns, including industry and company analysis as part of identifying new markets for organizing, strategic research and development for ongoing campaigns and public policy analysis.

The Research Associate will be hired by SEIU's Research Dept or by one of the locals.

DUTIES INCLUDE:

• Compiling and summarizing data on industries, companies, individuals and issues in support of campaigns
  
• Analyzing financial, legal and regulatory aspects of industry and employers
  
• Synthesizing relevant facts/issues from a large amount of data
  
• Answering requests for information

REQUIREMENTS:
Candidates should have most of the following:

• One to three years of experience
  
• Commitment to progressive social change and activist experience
  
• Bachelor's degree from accredited four-year college or university and/or prior research experience
  
• Basic understanding of business, financial, economic, legal and political concepts and documents
  
• Quantitative research skills and financial analysis
  
• Excellent writing ability
  
• Comfort with numbers and technology
  
• Familiarity with a variety of computer-based research skills
  
• Ability to work well under tight deadlines and in a team environment
  
• Willingness to work long and irregular hours when needed to meet campaign demands.
