TTD INTERNSHIP About TTD The Transportation Trades Department (TTD), the transportation umbrella organization of the American Federation of Labor and Congress of Industrial Organizations (AFL-CIO). TTD represents the interests of several million aviation, rail, transit, trucking, highway and longshore workers before Congress, the Executive Branch and independent government agencies. Duties TTD is seeking one intern for the spring semester to support the daily operations of the organization’s public policy work. Interns will have regular interaction with professional staff and will report to TTD’s Policy Analyst. Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
Qualifications The successful candidate will possess: a commitment to the goals of the labor movement; strong oral and written communications skills and organizational skills; excellent research and analytical skills; an ability to work independently and handle multiple projects; and proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Excel. Preference will be given to those familiar with the labor movement, with knowledge of the Congressional process, campaign or other political experience, and/or course work in Government, Political Science, Industrial Relations or related fields.
