Job Announcement: Legal Counsel

The Change to Win Investment Group is seeking an experienced attorney to provide support on a variety of cutting-edge initiatives to enhance corporate governance and accountability.

Change to Win is a dynamic coalition of progressive labor unions and a leading force for social, racial and economic justice in our country today. CtW Investment Group initiatives challenge America's largest corporations to take responsibility for how their governance and business practices impact shareholders, including the working families whose retirement security is increasingly invested in the capital markets.

Responsibilities include:

• Working together with senior staff at CtW and affiliated unions to design and implement corporate governance initiatives;
  
• Developing new legal theories and strategies to enhance worker-shareholders' voice in the capital markets;
  
• Building and managing relationships with outside counsel;
  
• Monitoring and engaging with federal agencies and key Congressional Committees on regulatory/policy developments to enhance the integrity of the financial markets;
  
• Organizing union and public pension funds to exercise their legal rights as shareholders;
  
• Ensuring full legal compliance in all CtW Investment Group operations.

Qualifications: Qualified applicants will have a law degree and be admitted to the bar, 2-3 years of legal experience, and excellent research, writing and political skills. Expertise in corporate and securities law, pension regulation including ERISA, corporate transactions or banking, business litigation, and/or experience in the labor movement all extremely helpful.
