The Partnership for Working Families is a national non-profit organization that helps unions and community organizations come together regionally to develop innovative strategies to reshape their local economies, and to ensure that development benefits low wage workers and their communities.  We emphasize the creation of high quality jobs, affordable housing, environmental health, and career pipelines for shared prosperity.   We are seeking a full-time organizer for our Inland Empire project based in the San Bernardino/Riverside area.  

Job Description
We are seeking a full-time community organizer to spearhead our “Inland Empire” project based in the San Bernardino/Riverside area.   This organizer will work with a wide range of unions and other social and economic justice organizations and foundations, as well as leading researchers, organizers and policymakers in our field.

Responsibilities: 

• Develop relationships between community groups and labor unions.
• Build coalitions around issues that benefit the lives of working families.
• Develop and implement organizing plans
• Build relationships with political leaders to advocate for various issues

Desired Qualifications

• Demonstrated experience in labor, community, political or faith-based organizing
• Prior positive relationships with organizations based in the Inland Empire
• Demonstrated commitment to social and economic justice.
• Familiarity and experience with the unions
• Strong creative strategic thinking skills.
• Staff management and fundraising experience is not mandatory, but a plus
• Bi-lingual
