We emphasize the creation of high quality jobs, affordable housing, environmental health, and career pipelines for shared prosperity. We are seeking a full-time organizer for our Inland Empire project based in the San Bernardino/Riverside area.
Job Description
We are seeking a full-time community organizer to spearhead our “Inland Empire” project based in the San Bernardino/Riverside area. This organizer will work with a wide range of unions and other social and economic justice organizations and foundations, as well as leading researchers, organizers and policymakers in our field.
Responsibilities:
- Develop relationships between community groups and labor unions.
- Build coalitions around issues that benefit the lives of working families.
- Develop and implement organizing plans
- Build relationships with political leaders to advocate for various issues
Desired Qualifications
- Demonstrated experience in labor, community, political or faith-based organizing
- Prior positive relationships with organizations based in the Inland Empire
- Demonstrated commitment to social and economic justice.
- Familiarity and experience with the unions
- Strong creative strategic thinking skills.
- Staff management and fundraising experience is not mandatory, but a plus
- Bi-lingual
