Position: NODD Specialist - Regional UniServ Staff

Salary Range: $78,419-$134,728 Per Year*
Unit Description and/or Conditions Unique to Assignment:
This position will service and provide assistance to CTA staff and members statewide and will require travel to all regions.
It is important that the incumbent possess a strong background and comprehension of the statewide school finance reporting system and an understanding of the related statewide database needs of NODD and other field staff. Strong interpersonal, oral and written communication skills with specific expertise in training and development of training materials dealing with NOD functions are essential.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Analyze the education budgets at the state, school district, county office and community college levels and develop written explanatory materials pertaining to collective bargaining.
- Provide program training and assistance on fiscal issues to the primary contact staff and chapter leaders.
- Provide leadership in the development and implementation of bargaining goals, regional and statewide training and CTA programs.
- Serve as consultant and resource to leadership and staff on state and local fiscal issues and all matters relating to collective bargaining, CTA training programs and CTA program goals.
- Create and utilize spreadsheet, database and other data management programs and systems to analyze state and local fiscal issues.
- Provides expertise to design, code and test the operation of databases, software programs and applications.
- Provide technical support to the users of NOD department databases, programs and applications.
- Draft, edit and field test new computerized data, programs and systems prior to its distribution.
- Provide training for staff and members on NOD applications such as BEN, SSA, and CTASearch.
- Perform such other related duties as may be assigned by the Executive Director or her designee.
Qualifications:
- A BS/BA or higher degree.
- Broad understanding of the critical issues and problems facing the public schools and the education profession in California.
- Demonstrated knowledge of state and other laws/regulations/procedures relating to the collective bargaining process and to school finance.
- Ability to analyze information, identify issues and problems, develop strategies and solutions.
- Broad understanding, experience and/or demonstrated skill in contract negotiations and organizing.
- Experience and demonstrated skill in developing and conducting training programs.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate orally and in writing.
- Demonstrated competence in the use of computer software, especially in relational databases and programming language (such as Microsoft VBA and SQL) and the integrative features of Microsoft Office Suite, as well as other products and programs used to support the NOD department and chapter bargaining, organizing, communications, and training programs.
- Ability to obtain a valid California drivers license.

*This position is in a bargaining unit represented by CSO. Salaries are established by a collective bargaining agreement. Step placement is also determined by the CTA/CSO Agreement.
