AFT NORTH EAST REGION ORGANIZER

Job Description:

This is a full time position for an AFT North East Region Organizer. Applicants will work on exciting Philadelphia / Southern New Jersey-based organizing campaigns. Organizers are responsible for all aspects of a campaign including building relationships with workers, developing issues-based organizing plans for assigned areas, and increasing and sustaining motivation of organizing committee and activists.

Qualifications:

• Knowledge, experience and background indicating capabilities in organizing
• Demonstrated commitment to empower workers through the labor movement
• Previous community and/or labor organizing
• Good communication skills
• Willingness to take direction and work in a team
• Good interpersonal skills
• Willingness to work nights and weekends as required
• Computer literacy
• Valid driver's license/ car

Pay and benefits:

This position is covered by a collective bargaining agreement. Salary begins at $45,634. Fully paid health benefits, 401K, vacation.
