Organizing Assistant

Based in Vancouver, WA

Works with the organizing and field services staff to deliver the highest quality service and promote member participation in PSE activities. This position requires extensive travel in the course of the job, often working long and irregular hours, weekends and holidays, and may be assigned to work away from home for extended periods of time, including possible out-of-state travel. Performs other duties as assigned and directed.

  • As directed by the Assistant Executive Director, this position will assist and support Organizers in carrying out identified duties and goals of organizing campaigns.
  • Promotes unionism and union membership in a positive and effective way.
  • Functions in the spirit of friendly cooperation with other staff members in all facets of organizing, field services and support operations related to a campaign.
  • Under the direction of an Organizer or Assistant Executive Director, assists in implementing goals, objectives and operating procedures for assigned organizing campaigns.
  • Promotes the organization’s COPE and MLA programs.
  • Using a variety of resources and tools, will assist an Organizer or Assistant Executive Director with research projects in support of a growth campaign.
  • Will be attentive to potential bargaining unit or prospective member concerns and/or issues and report these to the Assistant Executive Director as quickly as possible.
  • Promotes and works toward the accomplishment of PSE’s mission within the parameters of the adopted values, policies and procedures.
  • Consistently searches for new and better ways to provide service to PSE members.

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: $36,727.00 to $45,884.00 /year
