Online Communications Manager

Based in Milwaukee, WI

20 hours per week • Starts ASAP • Competitive Pay


  • Maintain and modernize Voces’ website (www.vdlf.org), including innovative ways to promote individual donations via the website such as monthly sustainable members and donors
  • Design web pages, layouts, and videos to showcase our organizing tools online
  • Accurately and quickly translate content from English to Spanish and vice versa for vdlf.org and e-mails.
  • Work with Voces organizers and communications team to conceptualize thoughtful, original ideas that bring simplicity and user friendliness to both new and existing organizing tools
  • Work with communications team to assist in A/B testing experiences to better assess our online engagement and impact
  • Reports to Communications Coordinator

Design skills and qualifications

  • Experience with publishing software like WordPress, Photoshop, and Illustrator; experience or ability to quickly learn databases like CiviCRM and NGP VAN
  • Proven experience as a web designer and proficiency in visual design
  • Value and practice ownership over projects—determined and thorough, willing to see projects through from idea to implementation to launch
  • An interest in conversion rate optimization and an interest in/ability to quickly learn data analysis tools like A/B testing

Other Qualifications

  • Bilingual, English/Spanish; ability to read, write and speak both English and Spanish
  • Strong commitment to racial and economic justice and the immigrant rights movement
  • Ability to be self-directed and to figure out what the design tasks are and how to get them done, including how they relate to development tasks
  • Effective time management skills and proven ability to juggle several projects at a time
  • Availability to sometimes require irregular hours in rapid response situations
  • Organizing experience a plus
