The Grassroots Campaigns Division is seeking qualified applicants for the position of Senate District Coordinator (part-time) in Plymouth and Bristol County. Grassroots Campaigns Division staff, including Senate District Coordinators and their Legislative Political Action Teams, are responsible for fostering member engagement throughout the two-year Massachusetts legislative and election cycle. The ideal candidate will coordinate the activities of the Legislative Political Action Team (LPAT), and will be responsible for the development and execution of the local and regional LPAT plans.

The duties for this position include but are not limited to:

  • Recruit members, for the development of statewide Legislative Political Action Teams.
  • Monitor, coach and assist LPAT members to achieve MTA’s political organizing goals.
  • Collaborate with LPAT members to develop political action strategy for local state senate districts.
  • Convene member meetings in state senate districts.
  • Participate in conference calls and maintain weekly contact with the Director of Grassroots Campaigns.
  • Performs other duties as required.

To be successful in the role you will need:

  • Proven effectiveness in political and legislative action.
  • Experience with organizing and recruitment.
  • Familiarity with the MTA.
  • Excellent small and large group presentation and public speaking skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written skills.
  • Ability to access and to use computers for common business applications.
  • Willingness to travel and work nights and weekends.
