THE ORGANIZATION:
The Huron Valley Area Labor Federation is a chartered organization of the National AFL-CIO, which brings together local unions from four Michigan counties: Washtenaw, Livingston, Jackson and Hillsdale.  The HVALF works to stimulate and coordinate communications and mobilization activity among affiliates and allies throughout this region.  We focus on supporting the legislative, political, organizing, and solidarity goals of the labor movement locally, but are also involved in building local support for state and national campaigns.  We are led by an elected President and governed by our delegate body. 

NATURE OF POSITION:
This position is fully funded to June 2019 and we intend to maintain it as a permanent staff position.  Candidates who cannot commit to serve to the end of 2018 will not be considered.  The Field Coordinator will work in a six-county region that encompasses the HVALF’s four counties and the two counties overseen by the Monroe-Lenawee Central Labor Council (MLCLC).  The Field Coordinator will report on a weekly basis to the President of the HVALF.  The Coordinator’s work plan will be determined by the President of the HVALF, according to the priorities established at the quarterly meetings of the leaders of the HVALF and the MLCLC.  A more detailed description of the position and its responsibilities will be found HERE
